Good relationships are about more than a source for understanding and support, they’re also about creating happiness. But even long-term relationships don’t necessarily go below the surface or provide a path to connection.
But do we really need a sense of connection with others?
Yes. Connection is recognized as a core need that comes secondary to survival in Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. We need emotional intimacy and a feeling of belonging in order to thrive.
